About RBUF

Save the Children Youth Sweden (Rädda Barnens Ungdomsförbund) is an organisation of child- and youth activists fighting to make sure that all children access rights and power. We are a queerfeminist and an anti-racist movement. Save the Children Youth Sweden is the children and youth organisation of Save the Children Sweden (Rädda Barnen).

Our Belief in Children's Power

We believe that children must be seen as an important segment of society. Children are competent and unique individuals who can change their situation themselves, but it’s the adults’ responsibility to ensure that all conditions are in place for that to happen. We fight for children’s thoughts, opinions and experiences to be taken seriously in all situations.

You can become a member of RBUF if you are under the age of 26.

Key areas of influence

While we work for full protection of children’s rights, here are some of the focus-areas for our influence and operations with children.

Age power-structure

We work to dismantle the system in which adults have more power in society at the expense of children and young people.

Anti-racism

We fight racism and all our work is rooted in anti-racist perspectives.

Queer-feminism

We are a queerfeminist movement, we challenge the norms around gender, sexuality and power.

Broader Efforts for Children's Rights

We act, react and create operations around other children’s rights issues like the rights to school, culture, sport and leisure time, the right to health, democracy, elevation from poverty, the rights to protection from discrimination, safe asylum, global children’s rights development and implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
